What is CTET?

CTET is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes 1 to 8. The CTET exam is held in two sessions for Paper-I and Paper-II. The CTET Paper-I is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1-5 and Paper-II is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8. Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both the papers. 

CTET 2021 (July) notification and exam dates will be announced soon by the CBSE. The exam process for the CTET January 2021 exam has concluded successfully with the release of the CTET result and the issue of the CTET certificate and marksheets. Candidates who have qualified the CTET exam can now appear for teacher recruitment exams conducted by KVS, NVS, or central government schools.

CTET Eligibility 2021

  • Candidates should pass 10+2 with a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate marks in order to be qualified for appointment as a primary stage teacher
  • Candidates should clear graduation with minimum 45 per cent aggregate marks or 10+2 with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks in order to be qualified for appointment as an elementary stage teacher
  • Candidates should complete the prescribed teacher training programmes/teacher education courses

Pre Requisites to Fill CTET Application Form 2021

Before a candidate applies for the CTET 2021, they must know the pre-requisites for CTET application form. The applicants must keep the prerequisites ready before filling the CTET application form –

  • Candidates must keep a scanned photograph and a scanned photograph ready before applying for CTET.
  • Any signature in the capital letter will not be accepted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The signature must be in running handwriting. 
  • Candidates must keep all certificates ready for uploading and also documents for online payments. 
  • Valid email id and valid phone number must be provided while form filling so that all-important information or notification can be sent in that mail id or phone number.

Uploading of Photograph and Signature in CTET Application Form 2021

Candidates have to upload Image and Signature as per the dimension and format are given below:

A: CTET exam is conducted twice a year, typically in the months of July and December.

A: The CTET 2021 exam date has not been revealed yet by the CBSE. The CTET 2020 exam was conducted on January 31.  

A: No, there is no age limit to take the CTET exam.

A: There is no negative marking in CTET. Candidates are awarded one mark for every correct answer in the exam.

A: Candidates should score 60 per cent or above marks in the exam in order to be considered as a CTET pass. 

A: Qualifying CTET exam does not guarantee job to a candidate. It is only one of the eligibility criteria for employment.

A: Until now, the CTET eligibility certificate was valid for a period of seven years starting from the date of declaration of result. However, now the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has extended the CTET passing certificate validity to a lifetime period.

  • The scanned images of the latest Photographs and Signature should be in jpg format.
  • Size of the photo image must be greater than 4 kb and less than 100 kb.
  • Size of the signature image must be greater than 1 kb and less than 25 kb.
  • Image Dimension of Photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) * 4.5 cm (Height) only.
  • Image dimension of Signature should be 3.5 cm (length) * 1.5 cm (Height) only.
